Whether you are interested in trying astrophotography for the first time, or are an experienced astrophotographer looking to hone your technique, this online experience will help bring your images to the next level.


A live, interactive online masterclass

The night sky is full of spectacular space objects that can be revealed in remarkable detail using long exposure photography. This two-part virtual workshop will cover the in-the-field and post-processing techniques used, from beginner to advanced tools, to achieve the most eye-catching and high-quality images of the stars.

    October 2nd and October 9th from 1:00pm-3:30pm, plus an open question period at the end of each session.

  • Access to lesson recordings

    The live sessions will be recorded, so you can always refer to them when planning, shooting and processing your astro images.

    Action sets for Adobe Photoshop designed to simplify and speed up the image stacking process to reduce noise and increase detail in your images.

Liron Gertsman

You may have seen him on CBC’s “The National”, heard his voice on CBC Radio One, or seen his work in publications such Canadian Geographic magazine, The Guardian, GEO magazine, and others. Liron Gertsman has been photographing continuously since he first got his hands on a borrowed camera at the age of five. His work has been experienced by millions in some of the largest museums across the world, including the Natural History Museum in London and the Smithsonian in Washington DC. Liron uses his photos to educate on the importance of preserving and protecting the natural world for the continued health and existence of all who live on our planet. As a naturalist and photographer, he feels it is his duty to show people the essence of Earth, by thinking outside the box to create eye-catching images that connect people with the environment. Liron’s work has been widely recognized and awarded, sweeping the professional category of the 2022 Audubon Photography Awards and earning a highly commended designation in the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. In 2021, Liron’s work was featured by NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day. Liron is a recent science grad at University of British Columbia, and loves to use his scientific background to enhance his passion for art and visual storytelling.
